Understanding Permissions
CocoShot requires specific permissions to function properly. These permissions allow the extension to access your screen, camera, microphone, and other system resources needed for recording. Understanding and properly configuring these permissions is essential for optimal functionality.
Required Permissions
When you first install CocoShot, you'll be prompted to grant several permissions:
- Screen Recording: Allows access to capture your screen, browser tabs, or specific applications
- Camera Access: Enables recording of your webcam feed
- Microphone Access: Allows recording of audio from your microphone
- Storage Access: Required for saving recordings locally and managing files
- Tab Access: Needed to interact with and record specific browser tabs
Granting Permissions
When you first use CocoShot, follow these steps to ensure all necessary permissions are granted:
- Click on the CocoShot extension icon in your browser toolbar
- When prompted, click "Allow" for each permission request
- If you accidentally deny a permission, you can grant it later through your browser settings
Managing Permissions in Chrome
If you need to adjust permissions after installation:
- Click the lock icon or shield icon in the address bar
- Select "Site Settings" or "Permissions"
- Find and adjust permissions for camera, microphone, and screen recording
